Planet Youth National Data
The Planet Youth survey provides valuable insights by analysing data to reveal patterns in young people’s lives. This information helps communities strengthen protective factors that support young people while reducing influences that contribute to unhealthy risk-taking behaviours.
Local survey data allows individual communities to identify specific patterns, offering deeper insights into young people’s perceptions, activities, and beliefs.
The Clacks Keys mental‑health campaign, co‑developed by 12–14‑year‑olds in Clackmannanshire and supported by NSPCC Scotland and the Clackmannanshire Family Wellbeing Partnership, launched in 2025 in Alloa.
It was informed by data from Planet Youth, Plan International, and Childline, which revealed an urgent need to improve access to mental health services for young people in Scotland

Examples of National Data
The survey focuses on four main areas that surround the young person; family, peer group, school, and leisure time.
The images below illustrate different examples of correlation using national data, showing how two factors are related and change together.
Correlation does not imply causation, these patterns help us better understand behaviours, trends, and potential influences. You can watch a short video about it here.
